A coyote recently caught attention in Boston’s North End after being spotted roaming the neighborhood’s streets. Dog owners in the area spoke to 7NEWS said the animal has been the talk of the turf at their local dog park.“He was definitely a big coyote,” said concerned dog owner Michaela Burke. “I’ll definitely be a bit more cautious and cognisant of my surroundings now, knowing they could be lurking anywhere,” said dog owner Josh Svoboda. One video taken by a North End dog owner around 5:30 Tuesday morning documented the coyote moving through the area. The dog owner said she had just brought her dogs in from a walk and was heading off to work when she saw the large and seemingly healthy wild animal on the prowl near Snow Hill and Sheafe Street. According to the city of Boston’s animal control website, coyote sighting calls tend to go up as the weather gets colder. The same website says urban coyote sightings have been on the rise across Massachusetts....

For years, music teacher Simon Watts called his Somerville condo home.He wasn’t looking to sell, but was intrigued when a real estate company, MV Realty, offered him upfront cash in return for the promise that they could sell him home when the time was right.“I was a bit skeptical,” he remembered. After talking to some people and researching the company, he decided to take them up on the offer of $2,120 in exchange for the exclusive rights to list his home in the future.“When I didn’t find anything, I thought why not?” he said.He said he thinks he used the money to buy flights for the family and then didn’t think much of it after that. What he didn’t know was that the company placed a lien on his property. Since Watts didn’t try to sell his home in the year since he signed with MV Realty, he said he was unaware his home had a lien on it until 7 Investigates reached out this fall.“I don’t think they should be able to. WEYMOUTH — Making it to Gillette Stadium for a state title game is actually really difficult. It’s just that King Philip makes it look so easy.Following a 41-21 win over Barnstable in a Div. 2 state semifinal, the Warriors clinched their sixth appearance out of the last seven tournaments.KP improves to 11-0 heading into a date with Franklin at Fenway Park next week. Barnstable falls to 9-2.The Warriors were utterly dominant from the jump, as they seemingly did everything right, from running the ball, to throwing it, to playing defense.“It’s great,” KP coach Brian Lee said. “I’m so happy to have these guys. I’m so proud of their effort. It’s not easy to win games. It’s not easy to go in and compete against these teams. It’s hard to get there. To put yourself in that position, it shows how hungry the boys are because there could be complacency. You’ve already been, especially these guys, some of them it will be their thi...

Does Zach LaVine have lingering resentment over benching a year ago? ‘I haven’t heard that at all,’ Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan says.

The potential of an impending trade has dominated this week for Zach LaVine. But before Wednesday’s 96-94 loss to the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan wasn’t concerned about his star guard’s ability to balance his focus between the off-court drama and his on-court duties.“He’s always been coachable,” Donovan said. “He’s always been a guy that you can go to and talk to.”Another haphazard game from LaVine, however, offered more questions than answers about the two-time All-Star’s future with the Bulls. This week has added tumult to the latest chapter of the LaVine era in Chicago — a chapter bookended by two games against the Magic. When the Bulls faced the Magic on Nov. 18, 2022, LaVine suffered the worst shooting night of his life. He shot 1-for-14 from the field, missing all five of his 3-point attempts, before Donovan finally yanked him off the court for the final four minutes, forcing LaVine to watch f...

Families of five Minnesota men killed by law enforcement allege in a lawsuit filed this week that the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has not given them full investigation data, despite the cases being closed.Dolal Idd, Zachary Shogren, Okwan Sims, Tekle Sundberg and Brent Alsleben’s families held a news conference Thursday at the Ramsey County Courthouse to announce the lawsuit against the Department of Public Safety, which oversees the BCA.The lawsuit claims the BCA violated the state’s public records law, known as the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. When a deadly force investigation is done and if a prosecutor decides not to charge the officers, the case file must be made available to families within 10 days of their request, the lawsuit says.According to the lawsuit, in each of the five cases, requests were made by the parents of the deceased men after no charges were filed against officers. However, the BCA has “failed to comply with the Minnesota Gov...
